1971 Olds Recording Model Trombone VERY RARE F ATTACHMENT TRI COLOR HORN
1971 Olds Recording Model Trombone VERY RARE F ATTACHMENT TRI COLOR HORN!! . Outstanding condition, minimal lacquer loss on neck pipe and on hand holds. Very rare big 8.5 bell. Original lacquer is 95% plus intact, with only minimal loss as mentioned. Super sharp engraving on the red brass bell, as pictured. Serial number is 769615, which puts in in the 1971 range, according to the Lars Kirmser webpage. Duo-octagonal 16 sided fluted inner slides, unique to Olds trombones. No denting at all on the outer slides, or any evidence of previous repair work. F Attachment is smooth, maybe a bit of vibration on the low F, easily fixed by any repairman. Small flattening of the bell, as pictured, but again, a quick fix by any repairman. No denting to the main tuning slide or to the F slide, and both move very easily. Case is only a gig bag, and not a very protective one at that. This was the best trombone made by Olds back in the day, played by many professional players, and it plays amazingly well. If you’re a collector, you simply will not find a better one than this. It would be a good horn for a high school or college student. Thanks for looking, and good luck!
