A VERY RARE ANTIQUE SUN FACE PATTERN HORSE BRASS WITH DIAMOND REGISTRATION. A very rare, circa 1860’s cast brass, a magnificent sun face. Sun moon and stars feature in early horse brass design, this is an outstanding sun example with detailed face features, surrounded by fine rays. Two almost identical sun face patterns are known, one larger than the other, this is the rarer smaller one. In excellent condition with wonderful harness wear and patina.
