Very Rare 1700's Brass Barber/bleeding Bowl
HERE IS A BARBER/BLEEDING BOWL FROM THE 1700’S. SOLID BRASS SHEET CONSTRUCTION WITH APPLIED BASE. I ACQUIRED THIS IN ENGLAND SEVERAL YEARS AGO. IT IS IN THE CONDITION I ACQUIRED IT IN AND HAVE NOT CLEANED IT OR POLISHED THE BRASS. IT IS COVERED WITH NICE PATINA, WITH NO CRACKS TO THE BRASS OR ANY DENTS. IT HAS A SMALL BRASS CLIP UNDERNEATH THAT I ASSUME WAS USED FOR A HANDLE, TRAY OR SOMETHING. IT IS 12 1/4″ WIDE, 10″ DEEP AND 2 HIGH. NO MAKER MARK OR ANY OTHER MARKS. THE PICTURE OF THE MAN SHOWS ALL THE ASSORTED PLACES A SURGEON CAN DRAW BLOOD FROM. AS YOU CAN SEE THIS STYLE OF BLEEDING BOWL WOULD WORK VERY WELL FOR JUST ABOUT ALL THE SPOTS. I WILL BE LISTING OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS MANY OTHER MEDICAL AND CIVIL WAR RELATED ITEMS, SO, PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS.
