Very Rare Antique SCOTTISH Gutta Percha Heavy Brass Golf Ball Mould, c 1880. PLEASE SEE ALL MY PHOTOGRAPHS WHICH ALSO FORM PART OF MY ITEM DESCRIPTION. This is a highly collectable antique two-part gutta-perhca golf ball mould. It was made by John White & Company of Edinburgh in around 1880. It has both female and male notches and a mesh pattern interior. As you can see from my photographs – my mould is in very good condition with only a little tarnishing to the brass, commensurate with age and use. The steel mould section inside as a little rust spotting – but nothing major and does effect the production of gutta percha balls is used today. The mould detail remains nice and crisp for the balls. Please see my photographs which form part of the description. Dimensions: overall height is 3 1/4 inches (8.2 cm). The diameter is the same. These old moulds are very much items for the specialist golf collector or as display items for a golf or sports museum.
