Peace from Bucharest The Peace Treaty from Bucharest 1913 28 July-10 August Brass Medal Very RARE. This is one of the most rare medals in Romania!! “Peace of Bucharest” – The Peace Treaty of Bucharest – 1913 – 89 mm diameter brass, ENGRAVER Alessandrescu. After gaining independence from the Ottoman Empire by the Balkan states, Bulgaria, unhappy with the division of Macedonia and the secret alliance between Serbia and Greece, declared war on the two states. Following this act, Romania and the Ottoman Empire declared war on Bulgaria, and it captures it. The result is the Peace of Bucharest and Bulgaria loses most of the territories conquered in the First Balkan War, the one from 1912. On the medal obverse, the effigies of the kings participating in this war are represented. Central is represented King Carol I, patron of this peace, left Up, Peter I King of Serbia, left Down, Nikolai King of Montenegro, right Up, Ferdinand King of Bulgaria and right down, Constantine the XII King of Greece. On the back, allegorically represented is is Peace and in the background the building of the Foreign Ministry in Bucharest. Size: 89mm/ 3.5 inch (see pictures).
