Yamaha Trumpet YTR 6335. This is a very versatile and easy to play trumpet. The dark blue factory lacquer makes it a tad darker, so nice for solo playing. There is a dent on the bell, an area on the bell bend where the finish has worn, and a small chip off the finish on the lead pipe where i clipped on a AMT wireless microphone. I didn’t take out the dent in the bell as I don’t want to risk messing up the lacquer and it is not very noticeable in the dark blue. The YTR-6335 features a medium-large bore and a yellow-brass bell for a big sound with clear projection. It has the kind of flexibility needed for playing in a quintet or in the studio but enough tonal power for lead or orchestral work. It’s very even throughout, open in feel, and plays in tune. It sounds great in all playing situations. The horn can play dark and soft and can really scream, when asked politely. It is not heavy to hold. This is my back up trumpet… So it doesn’t get a lot of use. I love the dark blue colour. Yamaha made this especially for me as I knew the reps in my area and they hooked me up.
