You can look up the details on Google Patent Search – very interesting on this and other locks. According to my research Rochester Safety Lock Company made three versions of this style of lock. The lock is made of solid brass inside and out to prevent corrosion (a big problem with the steel locks of the time). The lock was designed to be easy to open (even in the dark without removing gloves – according to one of their adverts) and easy to change the combination (once opened). Lock Number = D3475. Made in The USA. Combination dial turns smoothly and the lock is open with the combination. The lock is 110 years old and looks great for it’s age. I will provide dialing/opening instructions.
