This token was distributed by an unidentified token maker. The die combination was used to strike copper tokens which are scarce and brass tokens that are very rare. The obverse die was not paired with any other dies for token production. The reverse die was only used in combination with one other die to create a single R-9 variety. NGC identified this token as copper on the slab label which appears to be a typo based upon the appearance of the token and the assigned grade which does not include a color designation. Grades for copper tokens normally include a color designation. As noted on the slab label, this token is from the collection of Donald Partrick where it resided for approximately three decades.
