Very Rare Victorian Edwardian Alligator or Lizard Brooch w Guilloche Enamelling. This wonderful brooch dates from circa late 1800s to very early 1900s and is a very rare sash pin brooch with guilloche enamelling and a c catch closure. This was during the time Florida artists such as Olive Commons painted portrait brooches with beautiful Floridian scenes from nature, I believe she started around 1908. This piece was not done by her but is a very rare and special piece from around the same time. This is an old piece and there is some age related wear to the brooch and some issues with the enamelling, including some minor imperfections as well and an area that had an old repair to the enamel filled in with white. I have taken some close up photos and have circled this area in blue, there are some slight age lines in the enamel, and some areas that had bubbles in the making, but it is still a beautiful and wearable antique piece.
