Up for your consideration is a very fine of antique Emile Galle porcelain and brass candle holders, c. These are very rare and early examples of Art Nouveau and Galle’s works. Each one has 4 hand-painted designs: a butterfly, a set of leaves, the letter “E” and the letter “G”. They measure 11.5″ tall and 4″ in diameter at the base. The underside is incised “FR, ” likely for France. Overall, the candle holders are in very good condition. One base has some bending where the base meets the neck, and on the upper cup. Also, some of the brass on the underside has pupped back from its edge. This doesn’t show when the candle holder is resting on the table. Overall, they present very well. Up for your consideration is this very rare and spectacular inkwell set. It contains the main inkwell in the center and two candlesticks. This is a true collector’s piece for anyone who collects unique items, inkwells, or Tolkien style items. The look of it has a very King under the Mountain, Tolkien look. The main piece the top dwarf, the king, opens up, but the insert is missing, which can be found online pretty easily. Underneath the dome is a whole forging scene with the billows, armor, anvils, etc. There are a few missing pieces to this. Two of the dwarves are missing tools. There was something on the anvil but now gone. Also by one of the tools on the ground there is an opening where something was attached, gone but not really noticeable. There is some finish loss to all three pieces due to cleaning and wear over the years. The two candlesticks feature three dwarves, two climbing on the candlestick and one underneath mining ore. One of the sticks has a cable that is snapped off, but also an easy fix with some brass wire. Also, some of the dwarves need small screws to hold them in place. Could not find a maker on any of the pieces. Candlesticks stand 9″ high with a 4.5″ base. Inkwell stands 8″ high with a base of 7.75″ across. The detail on these pieces is absolutely amazing. These were bought from Bruce Sikora from a private Collector. They have been with me since 1995. As you can see what I paid. They are more beautiful in person. They are roughly 6 3/8 tall.
