The map shows his combat tour throughout North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. Engineer Corps brass compass manufactured by Cruchon & Emons – Berne. Age – c 1918. Size – 2″ in diameter x 5/8″. Condition – Very good and working – nice patina.

According to extensive research, this piece seems to be a very rare one. Produced sometime in the early 20th century by the renowed AG Thornton Ltd. Appointed to contractor to Her Majesty’s Government during the early 20th century, Thornton excelled in the design and development of new drawing equipment with many patents and design awards. This rare piece has no patent number on it, it may be a proto-type. Missing a srew on one side, otherwise in fantastic condition for it’s age. Measures: 10cm x 10cm.

Untouched, uncleaned very nice original condition. Housing great overall condition with a few minor dings. Outer glass lense will need replaced. Old broken glass lens included to use as glass templet. Compass will clean up exceptionally well to serve as the center piece of conversation. Freely ask any questions or request further photos.

I have only seen a couple of these come up for sale in the past 10 years or so, and this one honestly is in the best condition of them all. This is a mid century Wadsworth brass cigarette case with the globe and compass design. Incredible detail that is in very good condition. Continuous hinge is complete and works as intended, as does the push-button opener. Hologram interior design is near pristine and the Wadsworth Made in USA is clear and complete. Very rare find that may never come your way again! I did not attempt to clean or polish this vintage item. Please see pics for further description and condition.
