Very Rare Vintage Brass And Copper Purse
This item is in excellent condition considering the age it looks like it was never used it even has the little maid in India sticker still on it. This unique item is a vintage mixed-metal pillow purse, an ornate evening bag highly popular during the1930s Art Deco era. Key Characteristics & Origin Materials:It is handcrafted from an eye-catching mix of embossed brass and a central contrasting horizontal band of copper. Design: It features a distinct flared, pillow-like shape decorated with elaborate repouss or stamped scrollwork. An ornamental filigree metal clasp keeps the top flap secured. Interior:These specific metal clutches typically come lined with plush velvet or satin fabric(often purple, blue, or black) to protect evening essentials from scratches. Origin:While heavily influenced by Western Victorian and Art Deco revival styles, many of these mid-20th-century stamped metal bags were artisan-made and exported from India.
