Rare Folding Arm Vernier Brass Plotting Protractor by J. Davis Derby approx 1890 drawing instrument surveying. In 1863 John Davis moved to Derby and made Theodolites. Surveying Dials Miners dials and vernier Protractors this one dates approx 1880 This folding arm protrator. A six inch diameter brass with silver insert scale, the folding arms are suppoted by springs when extended and have protracting pins at ther ends for accurate plotting. Jardinelli 6M Miles Davis model, new engraving since 1990. The Jardinelli 6M is a very rare Miles signature series. The mouthpiece has been vented (bent) just like the mouthpiece Miles actually used. The inner diameter is approximately 16.8mm. The mouthpiece has a semi-flat rim, and the inside of the rim is bent. The rim is semi-flat with a slightly gentle inside shape, and the anchor grip is unique to the Myles model. The cup is a slightly shallower UV cup than Bach’s C cup, and the back bore is slightly tighter. The back bore is a little tighter than Bach’s C. There are only a few minor surface scratches and blemishes, but there is no noticeable damage and the plating is clean. It has a very fat and dense sound with a good rise and a high degree of freedom depending on how you breathe. The response is outstanding, especially in the mid to high range, and it can be played up to high tones with little effort. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as’gifts’ – US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
