A VERY RARE ANTIQUE SUN FACE PATTERN HORSE BRASS WITH DIAMOND REGISTRATION. A very rare, circa 1860’s cast brass, a magnificent sun face. Sun moon and stars feature in early horse brass design, this is an outstanding sun example with detailed face features, surrounded by fine rays. Two almost identical sun face patterns are known, one larger than the other, this is the rarer smaller one. In excellent condition with wonderful harness wear and patina. I wrapped tape around the brass reel because the lid pops off time to time. The tape does not effect. The operation of the reel. When the tape is removed inside you will see the mechanism and spring operation. Be aware that is a vintage apparatus and the fishing line that is used is old and may break over time. I will include a link to a video that shows you how to replace the string and maintain the mechanism inside. The pull is currently set to pull objects like coins, scarfs, small loads, etc. The reel is NOT weak and has a strong pull.
