Antique brass fire fighting pump Very rare. This item I believe to be quite early and I have been unable to find another. If you can perhaps tell me more about it then Id be happy to hear from you. Most of it is brass part from the fitting around the upper screw thread hole, it is copper. There is a little plate on the front that is quite worn, on this I can make out a crown and a letter A to one side, the other side is worn / scored and I cannot make this out. There are also letters and numbers, some of which are also worn, this I think possibly read: H173928 / 40 / C22B below this is another line 27F/18?? The last two letters or numbers are worn off. The hand pump also has two little feet to the bottom, these fold up for when the pump is not in use. One of the pins that goes through the foot and bracket on the main body has cone out at one end, it is still present but would need refitted. Please observe all photos of the item you are purchasing as I only have one of these. There is some age related scoring from age / use and little dings / dents. Wear to the name plate also as photographed. It is definitely a used item and shows signs of use due to that. Pump handle still moves up and down, however the seals (or similar) internally may have dozed with age. This would look well in a museum of early firefighting equipment. The unit measures approx 21 ½ in height as you see it, without handle extended. Main cylinder width is just over 3 it also is 12 ½ wide with feet extended. Weighs approx 3.6Kg. I have included a number of photos and these probably describe the item better than I can and form part of the description.
