This is a very rare marbles safety camp carver in excellent condition. This comes with the external blade clip that is missing on most of camp carvers. The blade is very sharp. Up for your consideration comes VERY RARE MARBLE’S SAFETY CARVER ALSO KNOWN AS A FOLDING CAMP CARVER. THIS IS A HARD TO FIND KNIFE IN ANY CONDITION. Made by the Marble`s Safety Axe Co. Overall length of knife closed is just over 8 1/2″ the blade alone is 7 7/8 “. CONDITION: Not bad at all, top part of safety clip is broke off as seen in photo, other then that, just shows age and some surface stains, tip of blade on one side has a light pitting spot. I have been advised this piece was made between 1868 and 1883 but please do your own research someone who knows about kite marks will be able to identify this exactly, I haven’t cleaned it up as sometimes that can devalue antiques but I have tried to take photos of it best I can for you. This circular set of 6 brass hooks fold flat to pack for travel. They are well made and relatively strong, when hung. Weight of hooks 588g. Dimensions when folded are;-Height 26cmWidth 19cmDepth when open is 19cm central hook measures 17cm. Please see photos as I have taken them of the measurements and shown that the 4 outer hooks screw on one of the screws Will open but not tried to open the other ones. Lots of workmanship has gone into this piece and would be good to add it to someone’s collection.
