One of the highest-end models produced by NB & IW in the 1890s, featuring richly detailed dragon-leg supports and dual marble surfaces – far rarer than the standard floral-leg versions. Exceptional late-Victorian two-tier plant stand by National Brass & Iron Works (NB & IW), Kalamazoo, Michigan, circa 1890s, model No. This rare and highly ornate stand features cast brass and iron construction with remarkable serpentine dragon-head legs, scroll-and-floral openwork tiers, and two original marble inserts-both intact and free of cracks. Each dragon leg displays sharply defined detailing, with expressive faces and textured scaling continuing along the curves of the supports. The upper and lower shelves retain their original square marble slabs, showing natural veining and coloration typical of the era. The top gallery is an elaborate pierced brass design with rococo floral scrolls and raised medallion centers. 712X on the underside, this is among the most desirable and intricately cast models produced by NB & IW. The stand retains a rich aged bronze-brass patina-cleaned but not over-polished-highlighting its authentic 19th-century character.

This listing is for a very rare William & Mary style oak miniature chest on barley twist legs likely dating to the late 18th or early 19th centuries. It was found some years ago in Massachusetts. It measures about 12 inches tall, 11 inches wide (left to right) and 7 inches deep (front to back). It has hand-done dovetail construction of the drawers and the middle drawer still has its original lock (no key). It has its original brasses with tear-drop pulls. The chest weighs about 5 pounds. It is likely that this piece was made in England and sometime after made its way to New England. The photos best show a description of this wonderful little chest. This is a very rare stool by Paul McCobb for Calvin. It has a white vinyl seat and brass legs with X crossbars. We normally only sell pieces that are in ready-to-use condition. Due to the rare nature of this collectors’ piece, we have kept it in its original as-found condition. We have not cleaned or disassembled this piece in any way. We bought this piece directly from its original owner. The legs are stable but could use a little straightening. Please see the photos to judge the condition of this piece.
