OLD Very Rare Brass Overlaid Mounted US Officer Military Short Horse Bit
Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This is a very unusual and very interesting bit. I had one somewhat like this one about 30 years ago and traded it to a bit collector for an. Order of the Garter Bit. The iron on the bit on the shanks were overlaid with bronze or brass. You can tell that it is very old. I did not see any writing on this. This could be Civil War Era. This Bit is 6″ tall and the mouth is 5.25 ” wide and the bit has NOT been messed with in any way.
