40s RUDY MUCK Bb TUBA mthp Eb shank GOLD RIM/CUP….. Boy there can’t be many of these floating around….. Although it is not marked i believe it to be a 1940s Rudy Muck tuba mouthpiece….. I can’t imagine why someone would make a throw in piece that was identical to the Mucks…….. There are no tuba pieces or anything other than basic trumpet cornet and trombone pieces in the 40s catalogs….. Until the 50s when they have a complete line including some marching pieces… The wide rim is pretty much same width as a Bach W although it’s flatter…. And the cup is similar to the trombone pieces where they’re shape something like a parrot beak… A rounded slight V cup…. I’ve included a profile of the muck on the left and bach 24A on the right… This has an Eb or bass trombone shank size…. Piece is in excellent shape! _gsrx_vers_334 GS 5.4.3 (334).

This beautiful trumpet is in overall excellent condition , valves are light and positive , all slides pull and pop , with no dents and plays really well with a full bright sound. It has been checked through , and polished to raw brass professionally. All rudy muck’s trumpets were built by top manufacturers, and mainly imported by Dallas London. Due to the fittings , trim , 3rd slide trigger, side mounted waterkey levers plus other design detail I believe this was probably built by Selmer in France. If you google rudy muck you will find a lot of info about him , his father. And their manufacturing skill and history. The instrument comes with a vintage rudy muck mouthpiece in good order , and an excellent Yamaha case, with the badge removed. Needless to say the trumpet plays very well indeed. RUDY MUCK 32-M DALLAS LONDON. Trumpet in B Flat. Vintage Pro Level Horn. Lacquer is in exceptional condition circa 85% intact There are a few very small pings around the bell which appear to have been from insertion of mutes. I bought this trumpet about 6 years ago and learned that is was used previously by a local pro musician. I have used it at gigs and thoroughly enjoyed playing it. But is is now time to stick with My King Dizzie Gillespie horn! All tuning slides move freely and have been regularly cleaned, polished and lubricated. The valves are nice smooth and also in remarkably good condition. Supplied with what appears to be the original period case. Not the most inspiring of designs but in reasonable condition. I really have no idea as to its value and as such have priced it very keenly. You are more than welcome to come and try the horn first.
