VERY RARE 1910 Brass-Era Klaxon horn, hand push, in VERY good original condition
1910 Brass-Era Klaxon hand push horn – very rare – in very good original condition. I have not seen a horn (other than in an old advertisement) with a bell shaped like this one. There was some mild surface rust on the outside that I neutralized and put a light coat of paint on. I also replaced the bolts and nuts on the bell. I was looking for steel nuts and bolts but the ones that I found had Phillips heads so I got all brass which were slotted like the originals. The inside mechanism was completely rust free. The diaphragm had some very minor surface rust that I took care of with steel wool and some light paint. The patent dates are March 31, 1908 – May 25, 1909 and May 3, 1910. That would make this horn a 1910 Brass-Era Klaxon Horn.

Up for sale we have this extremely rare cigar cutter, one I have never seen before. My guess is it is from the early 1900s. It is made of all brass, with a stainless steel cutter inside. It has two styles of blades, it could be used as a blunt cutter or a V-cut. Engraved on an additional panel on the top is the picture of a cute little baby girl, with the caption above “One consolation-your business-Grammes”. On the bottom it is marked Made by L. Grammes & Sons-Allentown, PA-U. This was most likely a premium or gift given to customers of the advertising company, or it could have been a prototype never used.
