(375.00,85.00 UPS)-SALE 11/10-11/30———– 2 VERY RARE -1970 LIGHTOLIER -SOLID BRASS, silverplated Italian made (15 x 9-1/2x 4-1/2 out from the wall) fine quality GLASS ENCLOSED sconces. Units have a clear laquer coating. Fronts have no fine scratches. The backs are silver plated as well. Wiring is in excellent condition. These sconces HAVE BEEN RETESTED. They are semi-circular 3 piece glass enclosures. Fine quality craftsmanship with a metal tag on each unit stamped “made in Italy”. These are part of the 1970 lightolier European collection-these are accepted by the industry as high quality items-people wanting something of unusual design. Oddly at this time i found a matching similiar pair online and I put the picture and amount asked for “1600.00”. They are listed as unused and appear in fine condition-beautiful condition-like new. Vintage Solid Bronze/ Brass Electric or Candle Wall Sconces French Style. These sconces probably date from the 1880s to 1890s. The design of these sconces features the arms which look like branches with leaves. The center of the sconce is round with a Trumpet, Pan Flute and Sheet Music design. They are very old and are in very good condition for their age. These sconces are solid Brass/Bronze. They were painted at one point in time. You could refinish them and polish them or leave them as is. These are made where you could wire them electrically(see last photo) or leave them and just insert a candle. The pair weighs 24.9 pounds. Measurements are 17-1/2 wide and 13-1/2 tall. The inserts are approx 1-1/4 wide and 2-1/2 deep. They stick out 8-1/2 from the wall. The arms on these are held together with two screws on the top and bottom of each side. The only marking on these is a C inside a diamond on the back(see last photo). Please ask any questions. The design of these sconces is very successful including the long nozzles and the bulbous base. These Sconces will polish to a bright finish if you prefer. The sconces used to be electrified but the cables have been removed to restore them to their original use for candles. It would be easy though to electrify them because the holes are already made. Measurements : the middle piece with the bulb is 19.09″ (48.5 cm) high and 5.12″ (13 cm) wide, the arms are 6.69″ (17 cm) high and 11.22″ (28.5 cm) wide, the middle piece weighs 4.800 kg or 10.58 lbs and the sconces weigh 3.2 kg or 7.05 lbs each. This makes a total weight of 11.2 kg or 24.69 lbs.
