Perfect HUGE Rare Antique Victorian Brass Signal or Alarm Bell. Teacher’s One-Room School Bell. DESCRIPTION: This is a nice and very rare early antique item. Made of brass with a hard wood handle. It is the kind of bell that a teacher would use to call the elementary school children in from recess, etc. This one is so large that it could have been used for a variety of reasons. Could have also been used for a variety of ALARM OR SIGNAL PURPOSES. Made of heavy brass with a heavy iron clapper. Has a PARTICULARLY LOUD but pleasing sound and certainly could have been heard clearly and well!! Has nice wooden handle with great patina. Held together by fancy rivet on top, and entire thing is nice and tight. It is complete with the clapper, and in excellent condition. Nice and tight, and has an excellent aged patina overall. Body is nicely cast, with great lines. Great size for decoration OR USE!! Stands about 12″ high, and is about 6″ diameter at the base. From a Massachusetts estate. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!! Up for sale is an extremely rare antique 19th century handmade signal cannon. The barrel is cast out of extremely thick brass and has an unusual attachment added the backside. It has large solid cast iron wheels and a brass carriage that has acquired a wonderful patina from age. It is in good antique condition with a weld mark on the cannon, please refer to all photos.
