Gilt Brass corniche case with bevelled glass panels all around and is in great condition with some minimal age marks to the brass but would polish up like new, bevelled glass panels all around in excellent condition apart from a tiny nick to corner of right hand side panel White porcelain dial with roman numerals and original hands. This clock is a rare gilt brass & bevelled glass panel 8 day gong strike and repeating carriage clock, it has a exceptional look to it with it all being in great condition with only minimal age wear by Pierre & Alfred Drocourt examined by Dent of Cockspur street london 2 of the very finest names you want to see on a carriage clock. The case has a superb corniche design. And is constructed from a good quality brass which has its original gilt finish with superb proportions, to the top their is a oval thick bevelled glass panel through which the original drocourt lever platform escapement can be seen working, the repeat button sits in front of the bevelled glass. The clock has bevelled glass sections all around and all are in excellent condition apart from a tiny nick on the bottom corner of the right hand side panel but not really seen on display. With its original gilt brass carrying handle to the top. The case is undamaged. The brass does have very minimal age wear. And looks very good. It has a stunning white porcelain dial with roman numerals and original hands, to the bottom of the dial it is signed examined by Dent 33 Cockspur Street, London who was the retailer and only retailed high end clocks. Dial is in excellent condition undamaged. The clock has a high quality 8 day gong striking repeating movement with an original drocourt lever platform silvered escapement, the movement is in full working order keeping good time and striking on the half and on the hour counting the hours and repeats the last chime when the button to top is pressed. The movement is in perfect working order as can be seen in the video above with a superb action to the original platform escapement. The movement is signed with the drocourt stamp which is a DC with a carriage clock inbetween them and numbered 33964.
