Velve Tone Carriage Bell C1880s Brass Antique Vintage Streetcar Tram Very Rare
Beautiful condition thick brass “Velve Tone Bell Company” Streetcar or horse carriage bell made from late 1800s. These bells were used in streetcars, cablecars, trams, horse carriages and even some early automobiles. The bell would be mounted with the bell underneath the floor and the top part with the plunger was mounted above the floor where the driver could step on the plunger and ring the bell to warn for traffic. It is solid brass and very loud! It’s spring/striker mechanics ring the bell twice when pushed. There is not much information on these types of bells online but here is a Youtube video we found of somebody using the bell of a similar model.
