For your consideration is a VERY RARE Antique 200+ Year Old Danish Kridthus or also know as a Chalk Holder Brass Box or Case. From my reseach I was able to determine that these seem to come from Denmark and were commonly used by accountants to carry chalk in one of the two compartments, and something like coins in the other compartment. This antique handmade tube like container is in very original and very rare in this nice original condition. This rare piece still has it’s original patina and has not been cleaned or polished or repaired. The original hinges are very strong and in working condition. The Container opens on both ends to reveal a seperate compartment and each lid fits snuggly and stays closed. The piece has carving or metal worked patterns on the tubular sides and each end cap. There are dings, dents and wrinkles visible mostly on the end caps. The container measures about 2 3/4″ inches long by 1 1/2″ inches across.
