Very Rare Late 19th Century Antique Brass Lamp Shade Middle Eastern Moorish Moroccan. 30cm wide at the base. Please message me for details! This very unusual and highly decorative lamp shade has been beautifully hand crafted from Brass and depicts humans, animals and birds entwined in floral backgrounds and Islamic script and symbols. This lampshade can stand on the floor or hang and originally there would have been a tallow / oil lamp placed inside – access through the little door – but we have always used a lightbulb (no electrics supplied). The internal light source sends out beams of light through the pierced sections of the lamp sending patterns of light all around the room. It’s a truly wonderful spectacle to behold. What makes this highly unusual is the sheer size of this impressive floor lamp thats entirely covered in a wonderfully intricate pattern. It is an outstanding example of Late 19th Century Middle Eastern craftsmanship. Considering it’s age this is in amazing condition.
