This extremely rare reverse type is a revival of a Neronian type issued 32 years earlier, depicting a typical and well-detailed scene of Imperial largesse to the people of Rome: each man is said to have received 75 denarii on this occasion – roughly equivalent to 3 months pay for the average citizen!
