This is a glorious piece of American Craftsmanship – the “grandfather” of all modern SAXELLOS. At: 43:30 // and at: 37:10 These are wonderful playing instruments with a great ergonomic feel and a warm fat lyrical sound. I had a Front F key added for better playabillity, it can be easily removed as it is not soldered on but my tech, who custom built it, used epoxy glue. However, I would keep it as it is as it is fun for the top register. It comes in the original (non-smelly, safe, but really old case), the original silver-plate finish has a few spots of wwear and little scratches as pictures but overall this sax is in amazing condition. It has the late “Seires IV” serial number 233xxx and represents the last little group of Tipped Bell Bueschers which were manufactured, so it is the most advanced, it feels extremely solid and ergonomically even better than the “normal” TRUE TONEs. I used successfully an array of mpcs, VANDOREN; SELMER and vintage MEYER and they all worked fine, intonationwise. In general the sound is very expressive, flexible and even scaled, it works fine for callsical/chamber musical work and legit jazz but also in Big Bands. It has modern pads and springs and feels all over (as fellow players pinted out) astonishingly modern and advanced for an instrument built around 1927. It comes in it´s original (non-smelly but really old) case and with the special stand I aquired for it as pictured. All best wishes and thanks for looking!
