An extremely interesting pair of Lancashire child’s clogs. Probably made for a little girl. I have not seen any others of this design for a child. There are some adult clogs made for clog dancing or Morris dancing which have a few of these punched holes with brass ring eyelets. The leather uppers with multiple punched holes with brass eyelets, brass dome topped studs and with decorative brass clips. Wooden soles re-enforced with iron. They are very small so not sure if they were for clog dancing or for Sunday best wear. They would enhance any collection of early footwear collection or museum of childhood etc. Length toe-heel approx 5.1/2in (14cm). In very good condition for age, just one brass eyelet missing, one has a couple of splits to the tongue and one tongue has been repaired with an old piece of leather – see photos or ask questions.
