Very Rare METEOR Brass Casket Lens Set. Emil Busch Vademecum c1899. Unusual item, this is by all accounts, quite rare. There is no maker’s name but a previous similar listing suggests this may well have been made by the early Rodenstock company in Germany. Amazingly this comes complete with the original instructions, though they feel so fragile as were printed on very fine (near) tissue paper! This convertible lens can be presented in such a way that you have coverage from 9x12cm (3.5×4.5″) right up to 30x40cm (12×16″). You can make an Aplanat for sizes up to 18x24cm; a wide angle lens for sizes up to 24x30cm, or a’landscape’ lens up to 30x40cm. The iris (aperture) moves smoothly and is in circular alignment. The instructions have been translated (into English) and written in long-hand for your use, too! CONDITION Cosmetic – 8 Mechanical – 10 Optical – 9.5 (No obvious defects) Electronic.
