My bags are the antidote for the poly-lined synthetic leather run-of-the-mill bags being produced in China. Most of my bags are full-grain leather; Artisan craft , with authentic distressed character, and many with modifications unique to our line. We only use high-grade men’s belts for shoulder straps. This leather is reminiscent of equestrian leather halter straps. I also use half centimeter thick moose skin. Nothing wimpy here; quality and character that stands out and stands the test of a truly rugged lifestyle. Invest in a bag that you’ll love more and more over time. Also on many of my briefcases, I add a moose skin handle wrap. The handle is the point of contact that the owner has with their bag and moose skin leather is so pleasing to touch. I did a little bit of research and found out the zipper company REIS made their first zipper in 1949; so while I initially thought this case came from the 1930s it appears to be made after 1949. The REIS Zipper company’s Tagline is “The Strongest Fastener Period”. What I love about this case. My Addition: The moose skin leather handle wrap I added. I use high-grade 7-8 ounce moose leather which is very comfortable to hold in your hand. It is the part of the bag that the owner will come into contact with the most and each time s/he will mentally say, “that’s nice leather”. I have not known anyone who after they touch Moose leather has not told me how nice it feels to the touch. To give this extra padding and comfort I added a piece of a Pendleton Wool Blanket. Matching Open-Face Luggage Tag attached with deerskin leather loop strap. The fantastic spring loaded brass adjustable clasps. They are from a truly different era. The Thick Belting Leather chosen and embossed. Look at the head-liner photo with the sun setting through my bay window on it; you can see the wonderful texture. I have also added photos not in direct sunlight. I have strengthened up the stress points on this bag giving it a durability for years to come. Literally giving it an heirloom quality; you can pass it on to your kids! If you are not familiar with pounded copper rivets, they are a really old school re-enforcement that us next to impossible to remove. I have even tried to drill some out before when I have made a mistake and I could not do it. I use moose leather washers to give it even more durability. The zipper is in excellent condition (not wear on the webbing) and is made by a company called REIS. Built to last for decades. I like that it has a zipper pocket perfect for either a MacBook Pro 13″, 14″, or 16. I like the inside (non-zip slip pocket as well). The 3 main sections are nice and roomy either for your Laptop or for your books. The stitching is all solid. Inside is very clean (see the photos). The measurements, in inches, are approximately: 17.5W x 11-12H (without the handle and depending on how many clicks are chosen for the clips) x 4.5-5D.
