Highly regarded, now very rare and collectible Zottola 66C mouthpiece with patented stepped back bore design, creating an integral part of a Zottola signature sound like no other. Zottola trumpet mouthpieces came in 62, 64 and 66 size, with depths from A (deep), B (medium), and C-D-E (slightly shallow to very shallow). Compared to the more commonly found Zottola 64B’s Medium Size/Medium Bowl specifications, the 66C (0.660mm) was listed as Large/Shallow: Produces a full-bodied tone that favors the upper register and produces brilliance with less effort. This created a versatile sound suitable for both classical and jazz/big band performances, but easier to play for hours. From what I know, this mouthpiece is close in size to Bach’s 5 S, C, and B. Inscribed “Zottola 66C” on one side, and Port Chester NY PAT. In overall good used condition, but not perfect. Stored coated in valve oil around 1970 until now to avoid tarnish/oxidation. Other than wiping off old oil, it has not been cleaned, polished, replated, or sanitized. See photos for condition to confirm condition meets your requirements.
