What a special piece this is. It is a solid brass matchbook or matchbox holder that is in the shape of a donkey or horse. The matches are stored above the animal for easy access. This piece is quite uncommon. There are no markings, but it is likely from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s when these types of matchbox holders were used. Would make fabulous decor and it is useful too. What could be better? A very unique and cool piece to add to your collection. This piece is very scarce and hard to come by. It is likely one-of-a-kind. In excellent antique condition. Minor wear and patina consistent with use and age.
