Very rare and massive, late 17th / early 18th-century brass or bronze skeleton key for a church, mansion, or plantation door, measuring 8 inches in length. The key has a maker’s mark with the monogram CJW accompanied with a star underneath the letter J. Based on its size the key is made to lock or unlock a door up to 4 inches thick.
