An extremely rare bandstand clock with pendulum (not weights) – German made around 1910 The clock has just undergone a full professional restoration, this timepiece is absolutely pristine. A half hourly striking movement with outer count wheel, the clock strikes a steel bell with the hours and a single strike on the half hour. The case with brass columns, domed top and finial is immaculate, the stepped base with circular brass trim is again faultless, finished with an ornate brass pendulum and a large glass dome. The restoration took just over eight days in total, it involved carefully removing a gold paint that had covered the case/dial and just about everything else, ultra sonic cleaning started to reveal what had been covered, opening the 3 piece dial for re-silvering, plus meticulous work on the movement. Our final picture shows the clock pre restoration The clock operates perfectly and is a very good timekeeper. Our engineer is BHI trained, the work carried out is amazing. The clock measures 18 inch tall(top of dome), and has a base diameter of approximately 9 inch diameter.
