A VERY RARE SEGMENTED SHEFFELD STAR ANTIQUE HORSE BRASS. A superb and very rare antique cast brass, a segmented Sheffield Star. Usually when these star patterns are found they are later souvenir quality but are often wrongly described as antique. Please refer to page 14 of my book, The Horse Brass Collectors handbook (1), an example of a genuine antique example is shown together with a later copy, I explain how to tell the difference.
