A very rare Yamaha Pro Recording Brass Snare 14 x 6.5 it’s special because of its seamless brass shell, 10 lug design with Factory Power Hoops. Not many were made with the Power Hoops. Made in Japan (higher-end production) A Silver Badge model indicates it was built in the late 80s. The SD 496 is known to have a very focused sound. It’s known for loud rimshots and a warm, but cutting tone. Its an early Recording Custom Pro Quality Brass Snare. The same era of the legendary Yamaha Studio Kits.
