Civil War Store Card for William G. Brain, Druggist in Springfield, Ohio. Fuld OH830A-11b (brass) R-8 NGC MS-64 Finest Known among all certified tokens of which there are only two. Brain obtained store card tokens from Cincinnati token maker John Stanton. A single obverse die was used to strike tokens mostly on copper planchets. This is the only brass variety for this merchant and it is perhaps an underrated variety. Only two tokens appear in the NGC Census and this is the finest known.
