Up for sale is an extremely rare lot of 5 original Argentine police whistles used by the “Policía de la Capital” (Capital Police). These early dual-tone whistles are all made of. Four have the classic cylindrical body, while one features a rare flat-style design. Each whistle is engraved with “Policía de la Capital” markings and produces a loud dual-tone sound. All are unbranded but are known to have been manufactured in Argentina between. Circa 1880 and 1930. Lengths range from approx. 1.8 to 2.2 inches (4.8 to 5.7 cm). Original antique whistles showing age-related wear. Nickel plating is partially worn in various areas. Some show light scratches and markings here and there. One is missing the ring.
