This is the prized piece in my fob collection – I have strung them in a necklace and this has not been added yet – sad to part with it! It is a figural cigar cutter – composed of a child sitting on a chamber pot, which has hinges. When you lift the feet forward, the body leans to reveal the cutter. The main figure here is made of copper with a brass plating – some of the brass has left, but because you then see the copper, it still looks fabulous! Not sure why, but some of the pictures seem to make it appear much more orange in color, which it is not – it is a dull brass color. The steel cutter needs cleaning with some solution – just shows rust. This piece is not signed and hails from the 1800s, judging from the “potty” subject matter. It has a circular ring to use for hanging on a chain or piece of suede! It is very solid and measures 1-1/2″ from top of head to bottom of pot X 3/4″ in width and weighs in at a respectable10 grams.
