Palo Seco Panama Canal Zone 1919 1 Cent Leprosarium Token. Incredibly unique collectible token / coin. Undated, but minted in 1919. Most of these were eventually collected and destroyed. As Science learned more about the condition, it was eventually determined. To this day, very few examples of any denomination. Remain and only in the hands of a few collectors around the world. Quite a detailed history of these tokens can be found / researched on line and is a very interesting and fascinating read. When available, they’re typically raw. This Token is authenticated. Was actually authenticated, graded and slabbed April 2022. Received back from NGC shortly before this. At this time, NGC had graded 2 others in. AU 55 and only 6 in higher grades.
