1921 CG Conn Contrabass Eb Sarrusophone Excellent Condition Very Rare Amazing
1921 CG Conn Contrabass Eb Sarrusophone Excellent Condition Very Rare Amazing. Right now, you are looking at an incredible piece. This amazing 1921 C. Conn contrabass Eb sarrusophone is very rare, and in excellent condition! It has new pads, and has been completely serviced. The serial number is 1119954. It includes both the double reed, and original “soprano sax style” mouthpiece. There are some tiny dents on the bell, but they don’t really show in the photos. I couldn’t find any evidence of repairs on the horn itself, however I did see a solder repair on the bocal brace. The action is great, the intonation is dead on, but the best part is the sound! This horn sounds amazing. It has a deep throaty tone and a very reedy expression. It makes me think of a bass sax, with more harmonic range. It’s truly unique and you’ll instantly fall in love. The sarrusophone, despite its unusual appearance, is not difficult to master, especially for one who has played saxophone. The fingering is almost identical and although the sarrusophone is properly played with a double reed mouthpiece, the Conn designed have perfect a mouthpiece similar to that of a soprano saxophone which gives perfect results on the sarrusophone. The contrabass Eb is the only member of the family now being built, but other will be added form time to time. This model is by far the most important of the sarrusophone group, and takes the place of brass basses, being much easier to play and weighing less. This includes its original case, which is in fair condition. This sarrusophone is amazingly rare! Finding one in such clean condition is almost impossible! This is once in a lifetime opportunity to own this amazing instrument that will bring you a lifetime of happiness. Imagine playing this beauty at a gig – you will own the crowd! This beautiful horn needs to be played. Give her a new home and she’ll expand your playing every time you pick her up.
