(identifying seal contained on backside of movement) solid brass plate 14-day wind 2-train suspension spring FRENCH movement in unrestored FANSASTIC condition; 4 ¼” diameter ceramic chapter ring with black FRENCH Gothic stylized Arabic numerals (center portion contains 1 ¾” diameter polished gilded brass floral designed rosette); clear convex beveled front viewing glass (scratch free) sets into silvered hinged frame which snaps shut on the right side, surrounded by a narrow silvered trim ring protruding ½ from clock case face; exceptionally designed clock case executed in the FRENCH Gothic style includes silver plated pewter & gilded brass decorative cast metal throughout; FRENCH Flur de Lys motifs are repeated in almost EVERY decorative detail found on all sides, top & bottom; decorative reliefs mounted above & below the dial; 4 stepped & pointed Gothic spires are found above & below the clock case; hour & minute hands are ornately designed in the FRENCH Gothic style & finished in black color; a pair of griffins sit proudly on side mounted platforms held up by dolphins; pair of lion silhouettes hold the FRENCH coat of arms topped with the King’s crown located above the clock dial; adjustable brass pendulum weight in addition to a FAST/SLOW front mounted gear located above the 12 o’clock position; both movement & chime assemblies are mounted securely to clock case. This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling. Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well.
