It is made of brass, bronze, and silver I think?? It folds out and slides with a point but will not fold more than 90 degrees back. It has very intricate engraving of what looks like leaves on a vine or not sure?? I have heard guesses of: Divider, Letter opener, Medical device, Scaring tool, horse saddle tool, ect??
