This beautiful and rare Werkstatte Hagenauer sculpture of a woman dates back to the late 1940s/early 1950s. The elegant pose along with a strict formal reduction and the usage of carved precious wood as well as brass is a clear example of the works of the Werkstatte Hagenauer. These rarely come up for sale. Made from carved, precious wood (rosewood and walnut) and polished brass. This design is one of the rarer figurines by the Hagenauer brothers after the Second World War and is a clear continuation of the unmistakeable style of this Viennese art manufacture. Marked with “Hagenauer Wien”, “wHw” in the circle, “Handmade” and “Made in Austria”. Size: 25cm height, 21cm wide. Condition: great condition considering its age.
