This is a brand new, still in package, US Navy Mare Island Naval Station MINSY “Servimos” Sailor’s Civilian Clothes Brass Belt Buckle. It was bought for the Sailors to wear on their civilian clothes when off base. Mare Island Shipyard was the first Naval Shipyard on the Pacific Ocean, and was established September 16, 1854. Mare Island closed in 1996 and is no longer in service. This is a super rare belt buckle due to it being a Sailor’s Civilian Clothes Belt Buckle, and being that Mare Island is now closed, but even more so that it says “Naval Station” on it. Mare Island has always been referred to as Mare Island Shipyard or MINSY, so having “Naval Station” on the belt buckle makes it very rare piece. Naval Station Mare Island.
