With brass end caps. Truly an unusual and classic beauty. Be aware that one of the sides, the inches-only side, is overall darker and more discolored from use than the other. Numerals are done in turn-of-the-20th-century font, look etched into the wood, and measure both in inches and feet on one side, in inches only on the other, by marks made along and to both edges of each side of the rule. This is a very cool piece, if not one-of-a-kind than surely one-of-a-few, not many of which can have survived notwithstanding the flexibility of the wood. Pictures were taken in cloudy natural light, with one taken indoors under halogen light. The brass end caps have NOT been polished. Also, there is a small piece of masking tape still adhering next to the brass end cap and the one hole as shown in the photographs; the hole is at the one-inch mark and looks to be original.
