Very Rare 1918 King Lionhead Trombone
The product is a very rare 1918 King Lionhead trombone, featuring a unique silver color with a plated finish. This tenor trombone includes a mouthpiece, case, and a water key, all made of silver and brass. Manufactured by King in the United States, this trombone has a Bb key and a bell made of silver and brass, making it a highly sought-after collectible for musicians and collectors alike. Here at our music store we completely take the heart apart clean it and sterilize it that includes the mouth pieces. Oil the slide’ and grease the tuning slide. This is a very rare instrument I cannot find another one like it there are a few dings in the Bell which will show you in the photos. Please look at all the photos. There has been a few repairs which will show you in the photos but that’s common for a trombone that’s 110 years old. This also has the patent May 17th 1910. Also has the lion head. And pictures three and four it shows the tuning slide is on the opposite side it’s not on the belt side it’s on the slide. This is called a TIS mechanism. I could not find another one like this one. It looks like a 1910. It’s got the lion head which ended in 1918. But the serial number has it more like around 1920. So it has to be either a 1918 or a 19 19 or 1920. Otherwise I think the only difference between that would be the serial number which is 55267. The mouthpiece is a vintage Conn 3. We sell them usually as soon as we get them.
