These movements were the very first of the 59-8D calibre that Omega produced! Mega “CIBA” desk clock, 1926: Calibre 59 8-D a double barrel. 8-day movement, matt gilt dial with zones, centre featuring a vertical guilloché, stamped Arabic numerals, gilt Poire hands, octagonal brass case, brass plinth with a floral decoration surrounding a medallion stamped with the CIBA logo (Chemische Industrie BAsel – Chemical Industry Basel). This Art Deco desk clock is part of a series ol 1000 pieces. Almost all of which were delivered in November 1926 to the Basel-based chemical giant, which offered the watches to customers as an end-of-year gift. Please see photos just taken.
